Basic Ways of Making a Planned Gift:
Outright Lifetime Gift: cash, property, coin collections, gems, or anything else that has value.
Bargain Sale: sale of an asset to a charity for less than the asset's value.
Charitable Remainder Trust: property is placed in a trust and the resultant income is used to make payments to a beneficiary (or beneficiaries), usually for life. When the income rights to the trust have terminated, the property used to fund the trust goes to the designated charity.
Charitable Lead Trust: provides an income to charity with the trust assets reverting to the donor or to a designated beneficiary only after a specified number of years.
Charitable Bequests: a contribution made under a donor's estate plan (i.e. will). It can be an outright bequest of money or some specific asset like stock or sterling silver.
Christian City is not intending to offer legal or tax advice for the planning of your estate. We are simply interested in sharing information that might stimulate you to look further into the process of "making a difference" even beyond your lifetime.
If you would like more information on estate planning you can visit Pyke & Associates, PC web site (member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorney's): http://www.cpyke.com.
If you are interested in more information on planned giving or have already remembered Christian City in your Estate Plan, please call us at (770) 703-2636. You may also send an email to ccity@Christian-City.org. This information will be kept confidential.
Christian City is a non-profit organization which has to raise almost $3,000,000 annually. We raise this money in a variety of ways: golf tournaments, theatrical productions, donations from businesses, churches, and civic groups.
However, our biggest source of income is from individuals. Will you please consider becoming a financial sponsor or making a one time gift to Christian City?
All donations are tax deductible as allowable by law.
