Our Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is staffed with skilled, compassionate professionals to assist you or your loved one in achieving their highest level of function to return home, or to one of our other living choices.

Skilled Nursing
Our professional, dedicated nurses are prepared to provide specialized care for stroke, fracture, head and back injury, and diseases of the heart and lung.  We also have an excellent wound care program and can assist the elder patient with reconditioning and “after care” following surgery or long stretches of inactivity/disability.

Physical Therapy
Physical therapy will use a number of techniques to help you or a family member regain muscle strength and improve coordination following an injury or illness.  PT teaches patients how to walk again with appropriate support equipment, properly maneuver a wheelchair or use an artificial limb.  Our therapists help people learn safe ways to climb stairs, negotiate curbs and ramps, move from a bed to a chair or help alleviate or control pain.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy can help you or a family member relearn daily activities of life, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, homemaking and financial management.  Occupational therapists teach patients how to use the right techniques and equipment to complete these tasks.  We also work with cognitive, musculoskeletal and mobility concerns including adaptive seating devices.

Speech Therapy
Following a stroke or other injury, speech language pathologists work with you or your loved one to regain functional communication in a variety of ways - speaking, listening, writing, reading, gestures, etc.  Other activities provided by the speech therapists to improve daily interaction include swallowing therapy, methods of communicating with hearing impaired and cognitive training.

Restorative Therapy
Our restorative program consists of ambulation assistance and range of motion, massage and slow, gentle stretching, proper positioning and functional alignment and orthotic device application and removal.  The therapy department trains, assists and works closely with the restorative CNA as patients are transitioned from active to maintenance status.

    Medicare and You

    What is Medicare?
Medicare is health insurance for people age 65 or older, under age 65 with certain disabilities, and any age with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant).

    The Different Parts of Medicare
You can get the most from your Medicare benefits by learning what Medicare covers and by taking advantage of all that Medicare has to offer.  Medicare has the following parts:

Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) helps cover your inpatient care in hospitals.  Part A also helps cover skilled nursing facility, hospice, and home health care if you meet certain conditions.

Medicare Part B (medical insurance) helps cover medically-necessary services like doctors’ services and outpatient care.  Part B also helps cover some preventive services to help maintain your health and to keep certain illnesses from getting worse.

Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage Plans) is another way to get your Medicare benefits.  It combines Part A, Part B and sometimes Part D (prescription drug) coverage.  Medicare Advantage Plans are managed by private insurance companies approved by Medicare.  These plans must cover medically-necessary services.  However, plans can charge different co-payments, co-insurance, or deductibles for these services.

Medicare Part D (Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage) helps cover prescription drugs.  This coverage may help lower your prescription drug costs and help protect against higher costs in the future.
