Peace of Mind For families...

In 1984, the Alzheimer's Care Cottage opened as the first free-standing Alzheimer's facility in the Southeast. Since then we have provided an active and loving environment for hundreds of persons with Alzheimer's disease and comforted their care-givers with regular relief and support. Christian City continues to be a pioneer in providing quality care to families confronted with challenges of Alzheimer's disease.

Our unique facility is designed to provide peace of mind for families. A specially trained staff is on duty 24 hours a day, providing assistance with medications, laundry, housecleaning, personal care, and supervision of all resident activities. We also encourage family members to participate in care as they wish. The cottage has a number of unobtrusive security features designed to allow safe, independent activity, both indoors and outdoors.

Admission

The Cottage is designed for the care of ambulatory persons, who are continent and able to feed themselves, but need supervision and direction. Public funding (Medicaid/Medicare) is currently not available for this type of care.

Personalized Support For Each

A complete program of activity has been carefully planned to provide structured support for each resident. Our program includes organized day trips to activities such as picnics, fishing, and sight-seeing, as well as daily organized activities within the cottage to stimulate physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. We encourage our family members to participate in any of our programs as well.

Our residents enjoy the companionship and peer support afforded by semi-private rooms, and the support of an intimate family of only sixteen in residence. Most importantly, our staffing rotation is set to provide an unmatched level of personal attention.

And All The Comforts of Home

Best of all, our secure living and unique program of support are provided in a cottage setting, with all the familiar surroundings and comforts of home. Our residents can move about freely within the attractive decorated dining and living room areas, as well as the outdoor covered patio and walkways, just as they would do in their own home. We offer family-style dining and snacks between meals.
