Are you looking for other ways to help the Children at the Children's Village?
We're so grateful to all the volunteers and sponsors who participated in our special playground build day. For some of you we know it was your first time at the Children's Village.
Perhaps you were excited to learn about all the great things going on here but want to know still more or get further involved.
A simple, but probably the most effective way to help the children is to participate in their support through a child sponsorship. It's a fairly modest investment at about a buck a day for a monthly sponsorship, but it goes so far in helping The Children's Village provide the medical, educational, social, physical, and spiritual care these children need. You can learn more about sponsorship and other ways to help on our website.

A huge thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, staff and everyone else who participated in our incredible KOOL-AID & Ka-BOOM! Playground Build Day on October 30th! It was truly amazing to see over 200 volunteers come together from all over Metropolitan Atlanta and as far away Pittsburg, PA to help assemble this playground that will bring years and years of smiles, giggles and pleasure to the boys and girls of The Children’s Village at Christian City.
It was a phenomenal experience for everyone participating in the build and we had notice from KaBOOM! that it was completed in record setting time! Not only did our dedicated volunteers, KaBOOM! staffers and Play World Systems assistants complete a fully assembled beautiful playground, but they also completed 4 picnic tables with a Chessboard top, 2 shade structures, 6 benches and an outdoor classroom with 16 bench seats and fire pit. On the perimeter of the 7.5 acres active field are prayer/Scripture marker boards placed every 1/10th of a mile to provide a peaceful meditation walk or ride. THANKS SO MUCH!

The history, culture, and the purpose of KaBOOM! Playgrounds that began with the story of CEO and Co-Founder Darrrell Hammond is parallel to the work and ministry of The Children’s Village at Christian City. Like Darrell Hammond found at Mooseheart Child City and School, the boys and girls at Christian City find a safe haven and loving parents. These children, needing an out of home placement for a variety of reasons, are the heart of the ministry at The Children’s Village. It is because of generous supporters and volunteers, including our new friends at KaBOOM! and KOOL-AID, our children have a safe place to play
For over 75 years KOOL-AID has provided smiles for millions of children. The generous donation provided by KOOL-AID for The Children’s Village KaBOOM! Playground will help ensure “miles of smiles” on the faces of our children today and for years to come. These are often children who often don’t have much reason to smile before calling The Children’s Village ‘home’, and with the addition of the KOOL-AID & KaBOOM! Playground, those smiles will certainly come more easily!
